New York Fashion Week definitely debuted some looks perfect for the summer of 2020. Full of colour, popping pastels and bright neons. The return of the 80’s and hair as big as the shoulder pads from the 80’s returned too. We have picked our favourite and most impactful looks straight from the catwalk.Why not try interpreting the look in your own way, and be ahead of the trend.
Jeremy Scott
Jeremy Scott did not disappoint with his catwalk collection. Sculpted pastel wigs were paired with graphic and neon eyes. A look to try at home from Jeremy Scott’s abstract look is trying soft washes of colour in the inner corner eye. Then finish the look with a black eyeliner wing and a pop of glitter to complete the look. Why not try adding a bit of colour to your hair colour with a wash in, wash out pastel hair toner.
As pretty as a picture. Paint strokes and build up of colour is the look Siriano showcased. “Letting go” is the way to describe this look. The Make Up artist that created the look, Christin Siriano used Maybelline Tattoo Studio Eyeliner pencils in the shades Deep Teal, Polished White Sparkling Silver, and Striking Navy on the back of her hand before applying them directly with her fingers.
1970’s vibes mixed with rock chick is the look Daniel Sallstrom created at Pyer Moss. The glam rock look with finished with a shimmery, sparkly, metallic eye. Swarovski crystals were the main star of the show adding that extra bit of drama to the look. Sallstrom’s advice when recreating this look is “Give yourself a good hour or so to glue it on. Because it’s time-consuming,” he says. If you are wanting to dazzle this look make sure you have plenty of patience and time on your hands.
Tomo Koizumi
This is hair to a new height. Hair pro Guido Palau created this whimsical look. The tower of hair has a renaissance feel, mixed with mad professor hair. We won’t be having hair quite as heigh as this for the office look. Why not just adding more volume to your hair for your day to day look with a volumizing powder, or thickening mousse.
