Lashes

Lash extensions: which set, and how to look after it

Three sets, what each one’s for, and the aftercare that makes them last.

Extensions are fine synthetic lashes applied one at a time to your own. Done well, nobody can tell where yours stop and ours start. The appeal is simple: you wake up with lashes, they survive the gym and the pool, and mascara becomes optional.

Our three sets

Insta Lashes is the everyday set. Light and natural, about an hour in the chair, and good for up to ten days. You’ll notice them. Most people around you will just think you’ve had a good night’s sleep. If you’ve never had extensions, start here.

Happy Hour is for the perfectionist. Also about an hour and up to ten days, but you choose how natural or dramatic it is, and every lash is placed with extra care for a really clean line. Removal is included, and when it’s done you start fresh rather than topping it up.

Ruffle My Feathers is our volume set: several very fine extensions fanned onto each natural lash for proper length and fullness, around ninety minutes to apply. To keep it full you’ll need a lash fix every two to three weeks as your own lashes shed. That’s part of wearing this set, not an extra.

The first day

Keep them dry for 24 hours while the adhesive cures. That means no swimming, no steam, no hot yoga, and a careful face wash.

Every day after

Keep them clean. Extensions collect oil, make-up and dust, and a clean lash line keeps them on for longer and keeps your eyes happier. Brush them through each morning with a clean spoolie. Keep oil-based products away from your eyes, because oil breaks the bond. And don’t pick or pull at a lash that’s lifting, as your own lash comes away with it.

In summer

Heat, sun cream, chlorine and salt water are all hard on extensions. Rinse them after swimming, use an oil-free sun cream around the eyes, and pat your face dry rather than rubbing it with a towel. A set may not last quite as long in August as it does in March, and that’s normal.

What we’ll ask you

Tell us about any eye conditions, sensitivity or recent eye surgery. If your natural lashes are weak or damaged we may suggest a lash lift or tint instead and come back to extensions later. We’d rather lose a booking than damage your lashes.
