Trying to achieve those perfect fluffy, long lashes, can often start to feel like more of a chore than anything else. We find ourselves stuck in an endless cycle of curling, brushing through, coating with mascara, and finally having to undo our painstakingly perfect creation at the end of the day. Why can’t we just have lusciously long, curled eyelashes all day every day? Well as it happens, thanks to Benito, we can.
Since discovering the lash lift a few months ago, it very quickly became my favourite treatment, ever. For someone like me, who likes to maintain their natural lashes, whilst making them as insta-worthy as possible, the lash lift offers a perfect alternative to extensions. With very little aftercare, and long lasting results, this treatment is a fuss-free way to get fluffy lashes, with no need for curling at home! I know you’re probably perched on the end of your seat right now wanting to learn more, so without further ado, I’ll give you some details about your one stop ticket to lash heaven.
Step 1
First thing’s first, the most important thing to do whenever you are having a treatment that involves product being applied to your skin and near your eye area, is to have a skin test. This is free to do at Benito and takes just a few minutes of your time, it must be done at least 48 hours before your treatment and you won’t be able to have your lash lift done without it! Once you’ve had your test, provided you had no reaction, you’re good to go. Now for the fun part!
The lash expert at Benito starts by prepping the lashes, removing any makeup or products that you may have on them so that they are completely clean and ready! This is then followed by prepping the eye area, placing a cotton pad over your lower lashes, and the curved gel mould onto your eyelid. Your lashes are now primed and ready for treatment!
This is a three-product process, starting with the most essential part: the lifting lotion. We use a lifting lotion to keep your lashes curled and in place. The fixing lotion is what keeps your lashes curled for up to 6 weeks. By applying the lifting lotion to the lashes that are combed over the curved gel mould, they retain their shape and are left as the long, fluttery lashes that you’ve always dreamed of.

After another 15 or so minutes, you are ready for the third and final product application. Benito’s lash lift not only curls and volumises the lashes, but it also includes a tinting treatment, to make it look like you’re wearing perfectly applied mascara when, in reality, you just rolled out of bed. This product only needs 5-10 minutes to transform your lashes into the statement set you’ve been dreaming of!

The Results
And just like that, your three-point treatment is complete! All that’s left is for the technician to slowly separate the lashes away from the gel mould and clear away any leftover residue. The results, you ask? Outstanding. To my delight, when I looked in the mirror, I was met with what looked like a whole new set of lashes! Defined, lifted, fluffy and with heaps of volume, I couldn’t believe the transformation!
Although my eyes were a little bloodshot just after the treatment, this is to be expected, and only takes a little while to go down. Due to the nature of the lash lift, it can be slightly uncomfortable at times, but this is very normal, and far from unbearable. As long as you relax, keep your eyes closed and let the therapist do the work. Then it will be completely fine. The results are definitely worth any mild discomfort you might have!
Aftercare
One of the best things about this treatment, is that it simply enhances your natural lashes, without adding in any extensions. This means that it is the perfect treatment for all my fellow lazy lash lovers out there. Plus with very little aftercare needed! All it requires is to avoid getting them wet, applying mascara, or overly touching them for 24 hours! Simple as that. Once that period is over, your lashes are perfectly set, and you can treat them normally. I must admit, I was sceptical when I first had it done that the lashes would drop as soon as I got them wet. However lo and behold, these little beauties spring back into place every time! This treatment certainly gives your lashes a new lease of life, and the results last from 4-6 weeks.
Without a doubt, the lash lift is one of those treatments that once you try it, you’ll never look back. It’s amazing to see the results you can get with your very own natural lashes! The lift costs £50, however Benito also offer student discount. As a delicate treatment, with super long lasting results, I think you really get what you pay for when it comes to the lash lift! If you, like me, want the effect of falsies but can’t be bothered to apply them and don’t want the upkeep of lash extensions, then this is the perfect treatment for you. It’s minimal upkeep, with maximum reward. What’s not to like about that?
